In a pioneering initiative that would mark the coming of age of the city’s IT sector, as many as 20 home-grown software firms in the city are joining hands to set up what has been billed the first ever mini-IT park by a collaboration of small-scale IT firms.
Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT), a collective of IT companies and software professionals formed to promote Kozhikode as an IT destination, has decided to set up the joint venture.
Aufait is happy to be part of this initiative. Calicut ( locally known as Kozhikode) city is the home for Aufait’s second development center. The city also houses our sister concern Greenlemon. Aufait and its founders have always contributed to the initiatives to position the city as an IT destination
“We have decided to set up what could probably be the nation’s first mini-IT park, by collaborating various small-scale IT firms. The facility will provide the right ecosystem and IT infrastructure and transform the city’s IT scene,” said Anvar T K, president of CAFIT who is also the CEO of Aufait. The project will be implemented with the support of the National Association of Software and Services Companies ( Nasscom).
The mini-park would provide training and other amenities including incubation facilities for IT startups. “With the companies coming under a single roof, we can achieve cost reduction through common procurement, engage in greater collaboration in product development, engage in group procurement and even conduct common recruitment tests, “Anvar said.
