Aufait created waves on the Indian quizzing circuit when its team won the Kochi round of the Brand Equity Quiz 2009.  Shamanth Rao and Paul Rajan Eralil beat the biggest teams of the region in the finals, winning with a fair measure of comfort in the last buzzer round.

They went on to represent Kochi zone and Aufait at the National Finals held in Mumbai on May 10, where they performed creditably against the zonal winners in 9 other zones across India.
